Looking for a fun unique Fall Table Centerpiece for your Fall Party or even your Thanksgiving Day Table? Maybe you want to try your hand at making a Cereal Box Scarecrow like I did. This is super easy to do and of course I will show you how Step by Step right here.

So why did I make a Cereal Box Scarecrow? Well I was Challenged to do so. See I am a member of the Children’s Party Network and they started a thing called Craft Wars. The First challenge was a Cereal Box Challenge with these Rules:

Operation: Breakfast Club
Your mission: to create something creative, fabulous and child birthday/party related incorporating a cereal box as a craft material.
Must use: A cereal box (contents or package)

So I never pass down a Challenge especially one that requires Crafting which is one of my favorite things to do. So I thought about it and wanted to do something for Fall or Thanksgiving to keep with the season. I came up with the idea in my head and just today created it from my vision and I think he looks awfully adorable – Don’t You?

So let me walk you through how you can make one too  – I photographed all of my steps as he came together.

What you will need to Create a Cereal Box Scarecrow:

  • A Cereal Box of course – Now I used a Post Shredded Wheat Cereal Box, because I also Incorporated the Shredded Wheat into my design
  • Almond Spray Paint
  • Paint or Markers to make your Scarecrow Face
  • Rafia
  • Glue Gun
  • Old Scraps of Material
  • Straw Hat
  • Tape

Start with your Cereal Box – Again I used the Post Shredded Wheat – The Large Unfrosted Kind. Make sure to Empty contents before spraying. Then using your Almond Spray Paint paint your cereal box. Mine took 2 coats until covered.

Next I painted on a Scarecrow face, but you can also use markers to create your face as well. Then I cut some squares from some fabric I had laying around and Glued them onto the Box. So far so easy right?

Now I decided to incorporate some of  the Shredded Wheat from the Cereal Box into my craft. I did this by breaking off pieces and gluing them on with my Glue Gun.You do not have to use the Shredded Wheat if you do not want to, but I thought it would be fun.

Next I took some Natural Colored Rafia I had and glued that onto the cereal Box just to give him some long locks. I then took some another piece of material I had and created a Scarf for him at the bottom of the Box.

To finish him off I borrowed one of my daughters Straw Hats and tied another piece of Material around the rim and then took a Big Silk Flower I had laying around and taped it onto the front. That is it !!! How cute? Then I placed him on my Table and surrounded him with Fall Colored Candy Corn the kids can snack on.

See How Easy it is to create a Festive Fall Table Centerpiece.

I would love to hear what you think of this – Leave me some comments below. Oh and if you create one for your table – make sure to send me the Photos and I will add them right here to my post.

This scarecrow is so cute. But how do you keep him standing without falling to use as a table centerpiece?

Just wondering could you make this 2 sided? Will be doing round table decorations and was wondering what I could do for the backside to make it look interesting. It is a very cute idea. Thanks for sharing
