Move over Plain ol’ Popcorn and make room on the table for this Sweet bowl of Chocolate Popcorn that is SUPER EASY to make and everyone will love it, especially the kids. Perfect for your Party, Movie Night or any time you are looking for a quick yummy treat.

So I saw this recipe in an old magazine and decided to give it a try tonight as a treat for my daughter and her best friend who is sleeping over. I had never made it before and it just sounded really good, but I was skeptical. Well let me tell ya – this is so delicious, the kids loved it and so did I. Now I am going to share it with you and you are not going to believe how easy it is to create your very own Gourmet Popcorn. So forget spending a ton of money on the fancy stuff when you can make it and save tons and it probably tastes better anyway.

Here is what you will need to make some Chocolate Popcorn:

  • Popcorn – I used 2 bags of Microwave Popcorn
  • 1 Cup of Mini Marshmallows
  • 6 Chocolate Hershey Bars
  • Salted Peanuts (Optional) I did not use any at the request of the girls

So here are my ingredients ready to go – That is it . Now the original recipe called for unsalted popcorn, but I used salted – Sweet & Salty together is extra yummy and it tasted great in the end.

Are you ready to see how EASY this is? Ok so take your popped popcorn and put it into a a casserole sprayed with Cooking Spray. Add in your Mini Marshmallows – it calls for 1 Cup, but I added a few extra ;0). Then break up your Chocolate Hershey Bars and place on the top – I made the girls do it – lol.

Next stick into the oven at 300 degrees for about 5-8 minutes or until the chocolate melts. They I sprayed a spoon with Cooking Spray and Mixed it all up really good till all the popcorn was coated. Let it sit a few minutes to harden up and they you are ready to snack !! I happened to have some Popcorn containers left over from my son’s Movie Party so I filled them up and gave them to the girls to enjoy while they watched TV.

And here is my daughter and her Best Friend enjoying the Chocolate Popcorn which they gave a rating of Two Thumbs Up – when they weren’t full of the popcorn of course. My son & hubby also LOVED it, but they are camera shy – lol.

So what do you think? Will you be making some too?
