Having a Mario Birthday Party and you cannot decide on serving a Mario Cake or Mario Cupcakes? Well why not put them both together to create this Awesome Mario Cake that is made up of Cupcakes.

Now really it is not a Birthday Cake, but when all the Cupcakes are put together it gives the illusion of one, I think. When I came across this Mario Cupcake Cake I thought it was such a clever idea. So many of us have a hard time finding ideas that are simple to put together when it comes to creating cakes especially if you are not familiar with using Fondant etc… Mario is also one of those tough ones to do, but not this !!!

This Mario Cupcake Cake was made by Cute as a Fox Creations for her husband’s 30th Birthday, obviously he is a big Mario Fan. So she threw him a Mario Themed Birthday Party with some amazing touches including this one. She had seen this idea created by someone else and decided to give it a try for her party and I think she did a great job – don’t you?

So what does it take to create this Mario Cupcake Cake? Well I will tell ya !!!

Here is what you will need to create your Mario Cupcake Cake:

  • 143 Mini Cupcakes
  • White & Chocolate Frosting
  • Food Coloring Gel in Red, Blue, Skintone, Yellow & Black
  • A Large Board to Hold all of your Cupcakes

Bake all of 143 Mini Cupcakes and allow them to cool. Then Separate and color your White Frosting in the following colors – Red, Blue, Skintone, Yellow and Black. Then frost your cupcakes in the amount needed which I broke down for you here:

  • 37 Red Cupcakes
  • 24 Brown (Chocolate Frosting)
  • 7 Black
  • 2 Yellow
  • 42 Skintone
  • 31 Blue

Then all you do is simply arrange them on your Board in the order you see in the photo and you will create what they call an 8-Bit Mario. That is it !!! Now how cool is that? I think this is not only Super Easy to do, but being your Mario Cake is made up of all Cupcakes it will also save you the stress of having to cut a cake at the party – One of my favorite reasons I love Cupcakes.

Now of course I could not let you go without showing you some other pictures from this Mario Party. There were so many creative things made, but if you want to see them all you will have to visit Cute as a Fox Creations Blog to see the rest. Here is a Taste:
