If you are looking for a Fun Sweet Chocolate Treat for the kids this Halloween then you are definitely going to like my Oreo Bat Cookie Pops and I am going to show you Step by Step how to make them right here.  These are so Easy to make, look adorable and taste GREAT.

I came up with this idea for Oreo Bats after seeing some other fun Oreo Cookie Pop Creations out there.  So I sketched out my design, ran to the store and made my creation come to life in less than 2 hours. Not bad huh? Or maybe just a bit Batty.

So here is what you will need to create these Oreo Cookie Pops:

  • Oreo Fudge Creme Cookies
  • White & Red Decorators Icing
  • Chocolate Melting Wafers
  • Cookie Pop Sticks
  • Make n Mold Fine Point Decorating Bottle (Explained Below)
  • Edible Candy Eyes
  • Wax Paper
  • Toothpick

So here are all my ingredients ready to go. The Make n Mold Fine Point Decorators Bottle was something my sister and I picked up at AC Moore (Craft Store) a while back and had been dying to try out.  You stick your Chocolate Melting Wafers into it and it goes right into the Microwave to melt. Wilton also sells them and you can find them online – Here

. I used Cookie Sticks, but Lollipop Sticks would work too – I think they are just different Lengths.  I also used Edible Candy Eyes, but you could also just use the White Icing with Black Dots if you do not have them on hand.

So the first thing you want to do is create your Template. You just need a piece of Paper and a Black Marker. First I traced an Oreo Cookie. Then I drew my Bat Wings and Ears. Then place a piece of Wax Paper on top of your Template. Now when you trace and fill it with your Melted Chocolate it will peel off nice and easy. I placed mine on top of a Clipboard so I could easily transfer it to the freezer to set. You can use a Book or Cardboard – whatever you have available.

So here is the Make n Mold Decorating Bottle. All you do is fill it up with the Chocolate Melting Wafers and Microwave it on 50% Power until the Chocolate Melts. Then you just add the Tip back on and you are ready for business.

Now take your Chocolate in the Bottle and begin tracing your Bat Design on the Wax Paper. Then completely Fill it in with the Melted Chocolate.

Once you fill it all in add your Cookie Stick to the center. Then cover the stick with more of the Melted Chocolate – a nice amount !!! Then take your Oreo Cookie and Place it on the Top. Now take it to the Freezer to set and harden. It only takes about 5 minutes to set.

After it is all set it is time to give that Oreo Bat a Face !!! Take some of the chocolate and use that as Glue to add on your Edible Eyes. Then Take your Red Decorators Icing and add a Smile. Add your Bat Fangs with the White Decorators Icing. I did this using a Toothpick. Then carefully remove Bat from the Wax Paper and you are finished and have created your first Oreo Bat Cookie Pop !!! Was that Easy or what?

I then took all my Completed Oreo Bats and stuck them into a Styrofoam Base and my daughter and son had a fun treat for dessert.

My sister had some fun and created a Bat with Open Wings and she also created a fun Oreo Owl Pop with Chocolate Wafer Eyes and a Candy Corn Nose – is that a Whooot?

Now I must share my Inspiration for creating my Oreo Bat Cookie Pops and here they are:

These Oreo Pumpkin Pops were created by Megan’s Cookin’ and I think these are Fab !!!

And then there were these Oreo Mummies created by How Does She.  She also created some Nutter Butter Ghosts and Tombstone Cookies as well.

Now are you Inspired to get creating some Halloween Oreo Cookie Treats???

How cool would all of these look together on your Halloween Party Table?

Bats, Pumpkins & Mummies Oh My – oh should I say – Yummy !!
