How to Make Santa’s Reindeer Marshmallow Pops

Who does not love Santa’s Reindeer? In honor of Santa’s hard working Reindeer I created these Yummy Reindeer Marshmallow Pops that are sure to bring smiles to everyone at Christmas. Of course I am also going to show you how you can make them too Step by Step.

These Chocolate Covered Marshmallow Reindeer Treats are Super Easy to make and will be enjoyed by both the Kids and Adults at your Christmas Party for sure. How cute would these look as a centerpiece on your Holiday Table? Too Cute !!!

I decided to make 9 Reindeer Pops – If you need a refresher there is Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and of course Rudolph !!!

Here is What I used to create my Santa’s Reindeer Marshmallow Pops:

  • Jumbo Marshmallows – These are the Extra Large Campfire Marshmallows
  • 1 Bag of Milk Chocolate Melting Wafers
  • Mini Nilla Wafers
  • Edible Sugar Eyes
  • Pretzels
  • 8 Brown Mini M&Ms and 1 Regular Size Red M&M
  • Candy Sticks

So here are all my supplies less the Edible Sugar Eyes and my Chocolate Melting Wafers.  Again I used JUMBO Marshmallows for this treat – which can be found in your local store and are normally used for Campfires. You can use regular sized, but they may look a little different than mine. I was also able to find Candy Cane Candy Sticks in my local CVS that worked perfectly for my holder, but you can use Lollipop Sticks or other Candy Sticks too f you cannot find them. Before starting break up your pretzels into Antlers and set aside so they are ready to go when time to be added.  I also used Mini Brown M&Ms for my 8 Reindeer’s and then a larger regular sized Red M&M for Rudolph’s nose so he would stand out. He is the most famous Reindeer of them all ya know !!

To melt the Chocolate Wafers I made a double boiler using a Stainless Steel Bowl on top of my Pot that had water in it that was heated to a boil. Keep stirring the Chocolate Wafers until they are melted and smooth. Lick the spoon if you must, but if you do make sure to get a clean one to stick back in. Unfortunately this causes me to use many spoons – lol.

Next stick your Jumbo Marshmallow onto your Candy Stick. Then carefully stick your Marshmallow into the chocolate to get it all covered – use a spoon to help if needed. Shake off any excess. Then stick on your Mini Nilla Wafer to the front of the Marshmallow.

Now take your Pretzel Antlers and carefully stick into the top of your Marshmallow. Then stick on your Edible Sugar Eyes. Then place your Reindeer into a Box with pre-made holes so it can stand and set – I used a Shoebox I had hanging around. Once you are done making all of your Reindeer you will need to stick them into the Fridge of Freezer to harden up and set. I was lucky enough to have an outdoor fridge since it is so darn cold here. So I stuck them right out on my patio table. Just make sure to not leave them in the extreme cold too long or your chocolate will get a funny color.

Once they are set take some leftover melted chocolate and use it as glue to stick on your noses. You can do this prior to them being set, but I chose to do it after so they were easier to handle. Once the noses set up a bit – You are Done !!!

Are they cute or what? Set them on your table in a nice display and let the guests dig in !!!

I am all about Santa’s Reindeer and I make sure they are not forgotten each year. It is a Family Tradition in my home to not just leave Santa Cookies, but to also leave food for the Reindeer. Take a look at a page I wrote all about it here:

These are fantastic! I’ll be sure to post a link on ediblecrafts.craftgossip.com (I’m a sucker for anything on a stick, and a candy cane stick puts it over the edge!)

  2. LOVE them!
When we were growing up we’d make pretzel sticks dipped in chocolate and we’d use an egg carton, turned upside down, with holes punched in, to hold our pretzel sticks until they dried. I bet that would work with this too.
