How to Make a S’mores Cake

This S’mores Cake is Super EASY to make and will satisfy the SWEET Tooth of many.  It is a great addition for your next party and the kids LOVED it.

Last night my son was having some of his friends over for a Backyard Campout and I wanted to make a yummy treat for them. I just so happened to get an email from Betty Crocker that featured a bunch of S’mores Dessert Recipes – perfect timing right?

Campouts and S’mores go hand in hand !! The S’mores Cake looked so Unique and Easy (I am all about Easy) so I thought I would give it a try and it was a hit !! Of course I took pictures as I made it Step by Step so I could share it with all of you if it was good and it was so here it is !!

Here is what you will need for your S’mores Cake:

  • 1 Box of Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 Cup of Graham Cracker Crumbs (14 Squares)
  • 1 1/4 Cups of Water
  • 1/3 Cup of Vegetable Oil
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 Jar of Hot Fudge (16 ounce)
  • 1 Tub of Marshmallow Creme (7 ounces)

Now watch how EASY this is……

Gather your Ingredients. Preheat your Oven to 350.  In a Large Mixing Bowl add your Yellow Cake Mix, then add your Graham Cracker Crumbs, Water, Oil and Eggs. Mix with Blender on Medium Speed for about 2 minutes or so. Then pour that into a 13′ x 9″ Baking Dish that has been sprayed with Cooking Spray.

Next take 3/4 of you Hot Fudge (set aside 1/4 for later) and place spoonfuls all over the top of your cake batter in the Baking Dish.  Then stick in the oven for Approx. 40-45 Minutes or until your toothpick comes out clean. Then let cool for about 15 minutes.

While the cake is still warm take your Marshmallow Creme and place it on the top of the cake. I spread it with the back of a spoon I dipped under Hot Water so that it did not stick. Once you have coated the whole cake take the 1/4 of Hot Fudge you set aside and place it around the top of the Marshmallow. Then using a butter knife Swirl it around.

Then let it sit for a couple hours to cool and then it is DESSERT TIME !!!

Is your mouth watering or what? The Hot Fudge you put on prior to baking makes its way to the bottom, then you have the taste of Graham Crackers in your Cake Topped with Marshmallow and more Hot Fudge. I got a Thumbs up from all the Boys and my Daughter who have since polished the rest of it off today.

Do Note: This is a VERY SWEET cake – I am not big on things overly sweet so for me it was a bit much, but once again not one complaint from the kids.  My son’s mother tried a piece too and thought it was yummy. So I guess if have a Sweet Tooth you will love it as well.

Also I think that when I make this again I would add Mini Marshmallows to the Top with the Hot Fudge vs. the Marshmallow Creme.  When I do that I will post it here.

Notice my daughter always hamming it up for the camera and the boys not talking their eyes off of the Movie Screen. Until I went up close and took the one of my son’s friend who then looked like a deer caught in the headlights (lol) BOYS !!! gotta ❤ em’.

So give this cake a try for your Next Party or BBQ and let me know what you think !!

Enjoy !!
