Circus Peanut Carrots

I had seen these Circus Peanut Carrots  somewhere along my travels and I decided I would make some up to share. If you are not familiar with Circus Peanuts – they are Orange Squishy Marshmallow type candies made to look like Roasted Peanuts.  You can find them in your grocery store or local candy stores.  My mother loved to eat these and kids really like them too.

I made these during my Easter baking projects not just because the kids love them, but they also look great on the plate with all your Easter Treats. So it is a win win for all. So if you are having an Easter Party these are so easy to make, they look good and the kids will enjoy them. They are even cute to send to school for the class.

Here is what you need to make Circus Peanut Carrots:

  • Circus Peanuts
  • Green Licorice
  • Scissors or a Knife
  • Toothpick

Here are the Circus Peanuts and what they look like before they are Carrots. Then you just need some Green Licorice for the Stems.

So here is how Easy these are to make. Make a hole in the end of your Circus Peanut using a Toothpick – Do Not make it so big that when you stick in the Licorice Stem it falls out.  Cut a piece off your Licorice – maybe 2 inches or so depending on how long you want your Stems to be.  Then with a Knife or Scissors Cut some strips in the end of the Licorice piece, maybe a little more than 1/2 way down and carefully pull the pieces apart.  Then Squeeze your Circus Peanut to shape it a little bit to look more like a Carrot shape. Then stick in your Stem and you have an adorable edible Circus Peanut Carrot for your Easter Party.

I must give credit where credit is due – My sister was over for my baking day and she happened to be my hand model – she has nice long nails where I am a nail biter. So I thank her for the use of her hands.
