Check out these EASY Homemade Dog Biscuits to make with the Kids, for the Dogs of course. If you have dogs in your home these biscuits are a fun healthy treat the kids can help you bake up for your furry friends.
If you follow me you know I do a lot of baking – I am always in the kitchen late at night baking up something. Of course always at my feet are my 4 dogs looking up at me with their big eyes waiting for a crumb to fall on the floor for them to sample.
So last night I decided I would bake for them and give them a big surprise. My sister has always been the one to bake them special homemade treats around the holidays, but now it was my turn. I found this great recipe online and it was perfect. So late last night I ran to the store to get some Whole Wheat Flour which I did not have on hand for this recipe and of course my hubby thought I was nuts going out so late for ingredients for dog biscuits – lol. But that is how I roll.
Here is the recipe for these Homemade Dog Biscuits:
- 2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
- 1 Cup Peanut Butter
- 1 Cup Milk
- 3 Tbsp Coconut Oil
In a big bowl with your mixer mix all those ingredients together to form your dough. Then roll it out and using some fun cookie cutter shapes cut some out and place them on a cookie sheet. Bake them in the oven at 375 for about 10 minutes.
When the Biscuits are cooled enough call in the dogs for their treats. I made the Flowers for the girls and the Stars for the boys. My one dog Razor (pictured bottom left) never eats store bought treats, for whatever reason, but he LOVES these.
Making these Homemade Dog Biscuits is fun for the kids to help with anytime, but you can also incorporate this into a party event as well. Maybe your having a dog theme party – perhaps have the kids bake some treats to bring to your local dog shelter – I am sure the dogs there would appreciate it.
