Are you a fan of General Mills Monster Cereals? You know Count Chocula, Franken Berry and Boo Berry? If so then you are going to love my cupcakes created with each of them and the FREE Printable Cupcake Wrappers and Toppers to finish them off.

To me Halloween is just not Halloween without having these Monster Cereals in the house. I think I have had them almost every year since I was a child – Yes I am dating myself back to the 70’s.

My personal favorite happens to be Franken Berry – yum yum yum.  Hubby loves Boo Berry and kids love them all.

This year finding the cereal was a bit of a challenge – well only because I did not buy it when I saw it on the shelves. These cereals are usually in stores right around Halloween and I happen to see them and say I will get them on my next trip. Little did I know I would get sick and not leave my house for over a week.  By the time I got back to the store they were cleaned out. So I then called all the grocery stores local to me and they were also all out – I was freaking out because I had the idea for these Cupcakes and I also wanted some with milk. After many phones calls I finally found a store who had them a few towns over and crazy me traveled to get my stash. The workers who put them behind the Customer Service desk thought I was nuts – ok so maybe just a little. Whateva !! I had a cupcake vision that needed to be created.

So I had this idea of creating Monster Cereal Cupcakes and using some of the cereal and baking it inside the cupcake. I also created the Cupcake Wrappers and Toppers and you can print them for FREE to use for your cupcakes – Nice right?

So let me share with you how I made them Step by Step and what I used to make these Monsterously Yummy Treats….

So I gathered all my ingredients and got to work. First I mixed up my White Cake Mix and placed it into my Cupcake Pan. So far so EASY right?

The next thing I did was add a handful of the Monster Cereal on top of the batter. I did a row of each. Then I took a butter knife and mixed it in. Now I have never done anything like this before so I had no idea how it would turn out – I was hoping for the best at this point. So I stuck them into the oven at 350.

While the cupcakes were baking I cut out my Cupcake Wrappers and Toppers. The Cupcakes took about 20 minutes to bake and I had to watch them carefully, but as you can see they got a little golden brown  – I guess I was not that careful – lol. No Biggy though – they looked and smelled YUMMY. While they cooled I colored my Vanilla Frosting. I did Pink for Franken Berry and Blue for Boo Berry.I would be using Chocolate Frosting for Count Chocula so no need to do anything there.

Next I frosted all my cupcakes and then added a handful of the cereal to the top of each one.  You can never have enough Monster Cereal – just sayin’

Time to dress them up !! So I taped a toothpick onto the back of the Cupcake Toppers and then tapped the Cupcake Wrapper together. Then I just dropped my Cupcake into the Wrapper and stuck in my Cupcake Topper and my Monster Cereal Cupcakes were born.  LOVE !!!

But did they taste as good as they looked? Time to call in my testers….

YES !! They were a HUGE Hit !!! My son had a bunch of his friends over after school and they devoured them (like monsters). Of course my daughter did not miss out on grabbing a Boo Berry Cupcake.  I had one too – a Franken Berry Cupcake and it was delicious. The cereal inside the cupcake really worked great – these are definitely a new Halloween tradition.

So what are you waiting for – Go get your Monster Cereal and get in the kitchen and bake up some treats for your little MONSTERS !!

I think I need to go get me a bowl of Franken Berry now……….

Awww shucks – Thank You !!!
