Let the kids have some fun with a Cocktail Drink made just for them. Not only do they look good, but they taste good and they are a nice refreshing cold healthy treat.
The Essentials for any exotic cocktail of course are some dramatic names, outrageous color and fun accessories including Fun Straws, Cocktail Umbrellas, Stirrers and garnishes of Fruit, such as Pineapples, Oranges, Limes, Bananas, Seedless Grapes, Kiwi Fruit etc… You can even create colored ice cubes using food coloring. Limequats (baby Limes) can even be slice into two and frozen as an alternative ice cube.
Of course you also need some fun bright colored cups to serve them in as well. You can even include these in at the end of the party as a favor for the kids to go home with. Here are a few fun recipes for you:
SUNDOWNER
Pour Orange Juice into a tall glass. Then Gently pour in some Cranberry Juice. The red fruit juice slowly works through the orange juice giving you a dramatic sunset effect.
LIME TIME
You can use Limeade or Apple Juice straight up for this one. Garnish with green accessories like Green Apples, Green Grapes and Kiwi Slices.
RED ALERT
For a traffic stopping drink, first place a Strawberry in the glass, then a slice of an Orange, Green Grape and so on until the glass is almost full. Then slowly pour on some Cherryade (Kool Aid works) so that it soaks through the layers. Make sure to provide an Umbrella so the kids can eat that fruit too.
BLUE LAGOON
First dip the glass rim in some Lemon Juice then into some colored sugar (just add some food coloring to sugar and shake it up to get desired color). Color some lemonade with blue food coloring. You can also use a kebab skewer with a strip of green crepe paper, stick with a tint piece of clear tape and make strips to look like a palm tree. Thread the skewer with some pine apple chunks and pot into the drink before serving.
