S’more Pops – another YUMMY version of a Campfire Treat

There are so many ways you can make S’mores and these S’mores Pops are just one of them. I made these this past 4th of July for the family and they could not have been any easier to do and I am going to show you how I did it.

A few weeks ago I had made this S’mores Cake that I had seen in an email that I received from Betty Crocker. Well within the same email were these S’more Pops and the second I saw them I knew I had to give them a try as well. So I decided that my 4th of July BBQ was perfect. Normally we make them the old fashioned way in the our Fire Pit, BUT this year I wanted to try something different.

The other great part about these S’mores Pops is that you can make them ahead of time.  You can choose to toast the marshmallows before the party or right before serving them, but the rest of the pop will be ready to go, ♥ that !! And for parents of little ones – you will not have to worry about the kids being near an open fire.

Come on let me show you what I mean….

Here is all you need to create these S’more Pops:

  • Marshmallows – Large or the Extra Large Campfire ones which is what I used
  • Chocolate Melting Wafers or Chocolate Bars for melting
  • Crushed Graham Crackers
  • Skewer Sticks or Lollipop Sticks
  • Kitchen Torch or Torch of some sort for toasting

Start by melting your Chocolate. Now I used melting wafers so I created a double boiler to do mine, BUT if you are melting Chocolate Bars you can use the microwave. Then in another bowl crush up some Graham Crackers and have them close by and ready for sprinkling. Next just take your Marshmallow and dip it into the melted Chocolate coating it about 1/2 way or so.

Then cover that Chocolate while still warm with your Crushed Graham Crackers. Then stick your stick into the bottom and place into a holder – I used some Styrofoam I had hanging around.  I always save the Styrofoam that comes in boxes just for this purpose. Now you can stick them in the fridge to set the chocolate before toasting.

For the toasting I called in my Hubby since he likes playing with fire – Man thing I guess. Being my kitchen torch was MIA he used a regular torch for the Toasting.  He had fun lighting them on fire and being careful to only get the tops nice and toasty. And that is it !!! WE toasted them right before we ate them so they would be warm, BUT I took the leftovers and wrapped them up and the kids ate them the next day and said they were still yummy.

One thing I would change next time around is the Marshmallow size. I used the Extra Large Marshmallows and was told there was too much Marshmallow.  So next time I make them I will go with the Regular Size – so take that into consideration. Also note that even with that comment they still ate them and all I saw was clean Sticks – hmmmm.

So what do you think – are you going to give these S’mores Pops a try or what? Yum Yum Yum

I wonder if you could use smashed Honey nut cheerios instead of graham crackers?

Oh my goodness, these look amazing! And not nearly as messy as their originals.
