I have to share with you the cutest Treats that would go perfectly with your Zhu Zhu Pet Birthday Party. Check out these Zhu Zhu Pet Twinkies – Are they not the cutest things you have seen? I so wish I can take the credit for these, but I cannot. These were created by a very talented lady known as the Gourmet Mom on the Go. I am happy to have her permission to share with you how she created these so you can create them too.
The kids will love to eat these Twinkies that look like Zhu Zhu Pets – I know I would since I love Twinkies.
Here is what you need to make these Zhu Zhu Pet Twinkie Treats:
- Twinkies of Course
- Yellow Starburst Candy
- Brown M&Ms
- White or Vanilla Frosting
- Pink Jelly Beans
- Butterscotch Chips
- Uncooked Thin Spaghetti
Start off by gathering all your Supplies – Twinkies (Body), Yellow Starbursts (Ears), Pink Jelly Beans (Noses), Brown M&Ms (Eyes), Butterscotch Chips (Tails), Uncooked Thin Spagheti (Whiskers) and White or Vanilla Frosting for your Glue & Feet.
Next take your Frosting and create 2 Dots on the Twinkie. Then smooth them together to create your Zhu Zhu Pet’s Face. Then you can stick on your Pink Jelly Bean Nose. Then take your Brown M&Ms and add a Frosting Dot to the back and stick them on the Twinkie above the Face. Break about 4 pieces of the Uncooked Spaghetti so they are similar in size and stick them into the white face for the whiskers.
On the sides of your Twinkies add two dots of white to represent the Zhu Zhu’z Feet. Then to the back take one of the Butterscotch Chips and add a Frosting Dot and Stick on for the tail.
To create your Zhu Zhu Ears you are going to take a Yellow Starburst and cut it into 4 squares. Then stick them into the Microwave for about 5-8 seconds until pliable. Then simply shape your ears. Each Starbust will make 4 ears. Then just stick them into the top of your Twinkies and you have finished and made one SWEET Zhu Zhu Pet Treat.
Look how creative The Gourmet Mom on the Go’s Kids were when they added some Armour to turn these Zhu Zhu Pet Twinkies into Kung Zhu Pet Twinkies. They used some Pringles Potato Chips and some Fruit Roll Ups. I guess the creativity runs in the family !!!
I would like to give a Thank You Shout Out to The Gourmet Mom on the Go for sharing these with us and stop by her Blog to see all the other YUMMY things she makes and shares for all of us Mom’s on the Go.
